Melissa Sylvia Jones

Melissa Sylvia Jones, 46, of Frederica, Delaware, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16,  2015.

Melissa was born March 15, 1969 in Salisbury, MD and was a lifelong resident of southern Delaware.  She was a loving mother, dedicated wife, and co-owner of a real estate investment company.

She is survived by her husband, Rich Jones; son, Quinton Jones; parents, Fredrick & Dr. Barbara Sylvia; grandmother, Mary Moore; brothers, Stephen (Lori), Shawn (Amanda), and Jason (Allison) Sylvia; three nieces; five nephews; aunts; uncles; numerous cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Andrew Moore, Hattie Sylvia, and Bernard Sylvia.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 24th, at Melvin Funeral Home in Harrington, DE with visitation prior to the service starting at 11:30 a.m.  Interment will be private.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Lake Forest Odyssey of the Mind Program.  (5423 Killen’s Pond Felton, DE 19943 or http://lakeforestom.org/).   Melissa supported this program and her son’s team competed in the international finals earlier this year.
