Mary Louise Smith, 82 of Camden, passed away at Seasons Hospice, Christiana Care Center, on Sunday, March 20, 2022.  She was the daughter of Clayton and Louise Brown.

Mary Lou lived in Greenwood almost all her life, and was a 1957 graduate of Greenwood High School. She worked at Greenwood Trust as a teller, then moved to the bookkeeping department when they changed to Discover Bank. Between the two banks she had 35 years of service before retiring. Six years ago, Mary Lou and Ed moved to Camden to be closer to their daughters.

Mary Lou was an outgoing lady who attended Crossroads Community Church in Georgetown. She liked to socialize, go shopping, read, take walks, bake, work in her flower garden, go to the beach, and travel with her husband.  She was known as the sweetest person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Loockerman.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward Smith; daughters, Sheree and Greg Kielbasa, Susanne and Oscar Olivarez; grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, and Cara Olivarez; and sister, Barbara Bjork.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 1:00PM, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington. Visitation will take place one hour prior starting at 12 Noon.

Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home Inc, Harrington.
