Mary D. Horsley Diener, of Felton, went Home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from the Milford Center, she was 90 years old. She was born in Flushing, New York to the late George and Evelyn Hodgson.
Mary was a homemaker, who was the mother to many. Her favorite activities included playing Bridge, which she was a life master at, shopping, and eating out. She loved to travel as well, and visited many places across the United States, England, and also loved cruising. Her faith was very important to her and a vital part of her life. She will be remembered as quiet and shy with a sweet and gentle soul. She will be sadly missed.
Mary is preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Freydric E. Horsley Sr., second husband of 14 years, Dr. Samuel Diener; son, Fred E. Horsley Jr.; and grandson, David A. Horsley.
Mary is survived by daughters, Katharine Thompson and partner Tom Baynard of Felton, Lynn A. Gosier of Bear, Irene Victoria "Beanie" Horsley and partner Elizabeth Rohrer of Felton; sons, John N. (Kori) Horsley III of Raleigh, NC, George K. (Donna) Horsley of Newport News, VA; sister, Glenelda Hankins-Tokash of Massillon, OH; daughter in law, Michiko Horsley of Adams, TN; 8 grandchildren, 17 great, 1 great great grandchild, and her beloved cat Emmy.
Services will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11 AM, at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon Street, Harrington. Interment will take place at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Maryland at 2.30 PM. A visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
