Mary Cahill

Mary A Cahill, 74 of Harrington passed away at Bayhealth-Sussex Campus on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.   She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Sawa.

Mary was a veteran of the US Army. After her time in the service, she became a homemaker caring for her husband and son. Mary loved to travel, and enjoyed taking many trips with her husband and the senior centers. She liked to shop and spend time with her friends. A lover of animals, she enjoyed riding horses, owned several cats and dogs over the years, and was known to feed animals, such as the groundhogs, that came to visit in the backyard. She was a sweet lady that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son Christopher. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Michael Cahill.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, DE 19952 at 11:00AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with a visitation, prior to the mass from 10:00AM to 10:45AM, at Melvin Funeral Home 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952. Interment at Hollywood Cemetery will follow the Mass.
