Luella M. Cohee

Luella M. Cohee passed away, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, she was 89.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Earl and Luella Vincent.  She grew up in St. Louis and moved to Delaware with her family as a teenager.

Luella was a loving wife and mother and “Mom Mom”.  She and her husband were the former owners and managers of Pine Haven Campsite.  She loved to cook and gather with her family for holiday meals.  She loved her pets and would help any injured or hungry stray.  Her hobbies included reading and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Nelson Cohee, Sr.; one sister and three brothers.

She is survived by her sons and daughter in laws, Nelson Jr. and Ruth Ann Cohee of Felton, Roland and Donna Cohee of Milford, Wayne and Shirley Cohee of Milford, Dale and Sandra Cohee of Milford; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren,and her caregiver of the past six years, Wanda Willey.

Services will be on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 12 PM, at the  Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
