HARRINGTON — Lorraine E. Barlow of Harrington passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Milford Hospice Center. She was 67. She was the daughter of the late John B. and Ruth May Shanholtzer.
Mrs. Barlow was a nurses aid (CNA) with the Milford Manor/Genesis Eldercare, for over 28 years. When she was not hard at work, she enjoyed shopping with her close friend Brenda, working on crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite shows on television. She loved collecting Indian memorabilia and attending local Indian Pow Wows. Above all, she enjoyed her family and spending as much time as possible with them, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
Preceded in death, her husband, Norman Barlow, Sr.; a daughter, Sandy Marie Barlow; sisters, Shirley Blackburn, Phyllis Hurd; brothers, John Shanholtzer, Jr., and Bobby Shanholtzer.
She is survived by son and daughter in law, Norman and Dana Barlow, Jr. of Harrington; grandchildren, Brooke Marie, Rylee Marie, Delayne Marie; sister, Ruth Donovan of Lincoln; dear and close friend, Brenda LeFurgey; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, but donations may be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
