Lois Melvin, 67
HOUSTON — Lois Melvin, of Houston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at home. She was 67.
Mrs. Melvin was a beautician for Hair Port Family Salon of Milford for the past 22 years. She had been a beautician for over 40 years and enjoyed it very much. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, ceramics, painting, and taking vacations with her brother Dave to Tennessee, New York and all places in between. She enjoyed spending time with her great niece and nephew Karley and Tyler and enjoyed spoiling them. She also enjoyed watching QVC and sermons by Dr. Charles F. Stanley, founder of In Touch Ministries.
She will be remembered as an easy going person who had a big heart and would do anything for anybody. She will be greatly missed by her family, work family, and her clients.
She was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Lola Trader; and sister, Betty M. Trader.
She was survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert J. and Darlene Trader Jr. of Harrington, Douglas C. and Faye Trader of Harrington, Kenneth W. and Polly Trader of Smyrna, David A. Trader of Laurel, Gary S. and Kathy Trader of Ellendale, Dennis E. and Norma Trader of Houston; nine nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews, and all her friends, associates, and clients of Hair Port Salon.
Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
