Linda “Lynn or Lynnie” J. Smith, age 53, of Dover, went to be with the Lord peacefully from her home on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born, July 31, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Lonnie and Joyce VanDevander.
Lynnie worked at Wyoming Concrete for 18 years after which she went to work for Dr. Wilson & Appel. She was an avid animal lover from her years of working at Brenford Animal Hospital and would help anyone and everyone she met. Lynnie was well known and deeply loved by all those who had come in contact with her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Gregory P. Smith; two daughters, Jamie Lynn Barrett and Taylor Lindsay Smith; brother, David VanDevander; two grandsons, Quentin Warner Roach and Colin Barrett Roach. Lynn is also survived by extended family in England and Virginia as well as many special friends.
Services will be Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 1 pm, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
