Linda E. Hedstrom, Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the family she loved dearly, on Friday, November 25, 2022. She was 62. She was born in Seaford, DE to Manford and Ruth Embleton.
Linda was a homemaker who made it her mission in life to take care of her family. Her favorite activities included photography, crafts, painting, decorating, and listening to music. She loved quilting and sewing, and was part of the Greenwood Mennonite Sewing Circle. Linda also enjoyed going to the Maranatha Fellowship Church of Dover.
To say Linda loved her family immensely was an understatement. She cared deeply for her family, and always put their needs above her own. She loved playing games with her mom and dad, and even spending time with her nieces and nephews. Linda was always an encouragement to others, always had an infectious smile, and gave out the best hugs. Even through her illness this past year, she never became discouraged nor said a discouraging word. She used that time, as she did her whole life, as a witness for her Lord and Savior, and gave encouragement to her doctors and nurses as well. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kirk Hedstrom; daughter, Kristen Hedstrom; siblings, Lori (Bob) Passwaters, Rick (Leigh Ann) Embleton, Sharon (Charles) Williams, Ron (Wanda) Embleton, John Embleton, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, 12525 Shawnee Rd., Greenwood, DE 19950 at 10:00 AM. A public visitation will be held at the church, Friday evening (December 2), between 6 and 8 PM. Interment will be held privately at the St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Harrington, DE.
