Lester L. Tucker Jr.

Lester L. Tucker Jr., Harrington, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, he was 67.  Lester was born in Milford, DE to the late, Lester L. Tucker, Sr., and Jean Tucker of Harrington.

Lester was a laborer for the DuPont Company, and retired after 30 years of employment.  Lester enjoyed archery, and at one time was the Delaware State Champion.  In years past, he enjoyed doing a lot of hunting.  A favorite passion of his was bowling, and he enjoyed bowling on two leagues, and was extremely proud of securing his 300 ring.  Being outdoors was Lester's favorite place, and you could oftentimes find him outside mowing his grass, weeding, and taking care of his property.  Word searches was a fun activity that he enjoyed, which he filled numerous books up, and he liked to play solitaire on his phone.

Lester was always a joy to be around, and he will be remembered for his ornery nature, smile that lit up a room, and his love for his family, especially his grandkids.  Lester loved people in general, and you rarely got away from him without one of his signature hugs, he was truly a joy to be around, and will be sadly missed.

Lester enjoyed attending Calvary Wesleyan Church, and was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Zena Tucker; daughter, Tara (Wayne) Myers; son, Lester (Erin) Tucker III; sisters, Wanda (Bill) Van Vorst, Pat (Wayne) Brenneman, 10 grandkids, Breanna, Caila, Jason, Jasmine, Tristan, Jackson, Abagail, Logan, Tripp, Finnley, and great grandchild, Niklaus, several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Services for Lester will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 1PM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 11AM.  Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery.
