Kenneth Alan Baker Sr.
Mr. Baker graduated from Harrington High School in 1956. He then served his country proudly for the next four years in the United States Army. After his discharge, he returned back home to Harrington, De where he married his first wife and helped raise 3 sons (Kenny, Kevin & Mike). Mr. Baker began his first career with the United State Parcel Service (UPS) in Harrington Delaware where he retired many years later. He spent many nights during baseball season to help prep the Harrington Little League Fields and watch his boys play baseball. He was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge for many of those years.
He later divorced and remarried to his current and longtime companion, Carol, the love of his life. He began another career working for Porter Sand & Gravel driving trucks for many years until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to work in his garden, and had the biggest garden around. He loved to cook and helped his wife do a lot of canning. He would always give away his harvest to his neighbors, friends, and family. His Brother Harold (Randy) would come help in the garden during the past few years. In the past year, Mr. Baker along with his grandson, Ryan, spent time together planting the seeds and tending to the watermelon and other garden crops. Ryan was the apple of pop pop’s eye. Mr. Baker had very good caring neighbors, Adam and Michelle Messick and their little girl Bailey, who he adored like a granddaughter.
Mr. Baker is pre-deceased by his mother, Edith Bullock-Baker, his father Francis Baker, a son Kenneth Alan Baker,a brother, Richard D. Baker, and his beloved Dalmation, Casey who he loved, adored, and missed dearly.
He survived by his loving wife Carol Baker of Harrington; his son & daughter in-law, Kevin D. & Theresa A. Baker of Harrington; son, Mike W. Baker of Houston; grandsons, Michael W. Baker, Ryan D. Alan Baker; brothers, Charles (Janice) Baker of Greenwood, Harold (Lola) Baker of Seaford; sisters, Pat Teets of West VA, Eleanor (Charles)Cain of Harrington, Louise Claycomb of CA .
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
