Karl Forry of Harrington, Delaware, formerly of Jaffrey, New Hampshire, died on June 29, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with pneumonia. Karl was 54 years old.
Karl was a 1991 graduate of CONVAL high school in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Karl was a longtime participant at the Monadnock Worksource in Peterborough, New Hampshire; working for many years in the laundry at Good Sheppard Nursing Home and then as a groomer and stable hand at Touchstone Farms equine therapy center.
Karl was an accomplished Special Olympian, earning dozens of medals in Basketball, Track & Field, Cross-Country Skiing and other events. In 1995, Karl represented the United States at the Special Olympics World Games in Connecticut.
Karl particularly loved fire trucks, police cars and ambulances – anything with emergency lights and a siren. He also loved going out for a cheeseburger at Applebee’s, and searching for music in the used cassette tape bin at the music store. Karl loved to dance, and would cut loose with wild abandon at monthly dances for residents of local group homes.
Recently, Karl was a participant in the Day Programs at Connections and Choices for Community Living in Dover, Delaware.
Karl was predeceased by his parents, Kathryn and David Forry of Magnolia, Delaware, formerly of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. He is survived by his brother, Erik (Anne) of Magnolia, Delaware; and nephews Daniel Forry of Omaha, Nebraska and Kevin Forry of Felton, Delaware and several special aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his biological family, Karl was blessed to have extra family in his roommates, as well as the many incredible support professionals who helped him to thrive. Karl touched the hearts of nearly everyone he met, and will be dearly missed,
A memorial service for Karl’s Delaware family and Friends will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, Delaware. A celebration of Karl’s life for his New Hampshire Family and Friends will take place later this year in New Hampshire, date, time and location to be determined. Private interment will occur later at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, New Hampshire.
