Joyce Willey, of Milford, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from her home, she was 81. Mrs. Willey was born in Harrington, DE to the late, Clarence and Evelyn Clarkson.
Mrs. Willey retired as a secretary from the ILC of Frederica. In her spare time, She enjoyed growing roses. She loved to garden and attend to her many flowers, but especially roses.
She will be remembered as very loving and involved with her family. She was the type of grandmother who never missed a single sporting event of her grandchildren. She looked forward to all the family functions, dinners, and BBQ's. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Willey was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Harrington, and the American Rose Society.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Morris E. Willey; and a brother, Ernest L. Clarkson.
She leaves behind her son, Morris Willey II; daughters, Robin L. Thomas and Karen O'Toole; grandchildren, Darren Thomas, Eric Thomas, Kristin Work, Courtney Thomas, Douglas Willey, Laura Passwaters, Sarah O'Toole, and Megan O'Toole; brother, Gordon Clarkson; sister, Joan Edwards; and 4 great grandchildren.
Services will take place on Monday, July 24, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1pm, with a visitation one hour prior. The interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Heritage Bible Baptist Church, 14023 Wolf Road, Greenwood, DE 19950; or to the First State Animal Shelter and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
