BRIDGEVILLE — Jonathan Robert Kelley, of Bridgeville, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011, at Milford Hospice Center. He was 60.
Mr. Kelley worked in maintenance for over 25 years at Kent County Public Schools in Maryland. Mr. Kelley was also called into ministry. He was a former Methodist pastor, and currently working towards his ministers license for FLAME, Fellowship of Leaders Acquiring Ministerial Education. He put a lot of time and study into this very effort. Mr. Kelley was very passionate about the Lord, and loved to teach adult Sunday School. One of his favorite hobbies included wood working.
Mr. Kelley belonged to the New Liberty Wesleyan Church in Federalsburg. He also belonged to the Director of Discipleship, and the Walk to EMMAUS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leroy and Leanore Kelley; and a brother, William Leroy Kelley, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Grace Kelley of Bridgeville; sons, Joshua D. Kelley of Delmar, Md., and Philip A. Kelley of Rockhall, Md.; daughters, Hannah N. Kelley of Rockhall, Md., Denise Sturm of Greenwood, and June McLaughlin of Ambler, Pa.; sister, Jeanne Geibel of Rockhall, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011, at New Liberty Wesleyan Church, Federalsburg, Md. A visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Interment will be private.
