John Wayne Moffett, of Harrington, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, from his sister's home, he was 55.
John was a mason brick layer. He was also a horse trainer, which was his passion. John was a hard worker and easy to get along with. When he was not hard at work, he could be found fishing, crabbing, or at the horse races. He enjoyed being around his family and spending time with them. He especially enjoyed eating, and when he came over to visit, the first place he would head for is the kitchen to see and sample what's cooking. He definitely had a sweet tooth and liked his sweets. In high school, he was an accomplished wrestler, and in his freshman year, he won a tournament for the 98 lb. division. He was also a cross country runner. When his boys and his nephews were old enough to wrestle, he enjoyed coaching and teaching them all his moves. He loved to go watch them all compete at their games. John was a Philadelphia sports fan, and loved to watch the Eagles and Phillies.
Everyone knew John and loved him. He made friends easily with his gentle soul and easy to talk to nature. He will be greatly missed.
John was preceded in death by his second wife, Lorraine Moffett; daughter, Tara Rae Moffett; son, Jesse Ryan Moffett; brother, Willis "J.R." Moffett; and nephew, John Edward Rust.
