John E. Lloyd Sr.

John Elbert Lloyd Sr., Felton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, he was 75.  John was the son of the late, Roy and Ruth Ann Lloyd.

John proudly served his country through the Army National Guards in the late 60's.  He worked as a supervisor for the DuPont Company.

John was best described as an old fashioned soul who lived a quiet simple life.  He had a deep love for his family and really cherished his grandchildren.  Whenever he had activities planned with the grandchildren, he would be excited for hours in anticipation.  He never met a child he did not like, and years ago fostered many children in his home, and welcomed them as family.  Favorite activities included listening to classic country music, watching westerns on TV, gardening, deer and duck hunting, and fishing, especially in the Delaware Bay.  In years past, he enjoyed raising chickens, rabbits, ducks, geese, and being a farmer.  John loved to joke and tease and giving people a hard time in his special way.  His heart felt love for his family, dependability, and zest for life will be sadly missed.

John is survived by his loving wife, Anita Lloyd; children, John Lloyd Jr. (Rachel), Jeanna Lloyd, Rick Pritchett (Sandy), Michelle Svaby (Mike), Jimmy Biddle, Brenda Pritchett (Rob); brothers, Gary Lloyd, Keith Lloyd, Mike Lloyd (Terry); 14 grandchilden, 13 great grandchildren.

Services for John will be Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 1pm.  A visitation for family and friends will start at 11AM.  Interment will be private.
