John William “Bill” Cullember, of Harrington, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Bayhealth-Milford Memorial. He was 80 years of age. Bill was born to the late Hazel and James W. Cullember Jr.
Bill served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he retired after 20 years of service. He also worked as a security officer for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for 22 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling and cutting grass. Bill liked the Christmas season and loved putting up Christmas lights. He was a car enthusiast, and finally got his dream car which was a 2006 Monte Carlo. Bill enjoyed watching his two favorite teams play on TV, the Baltimore Orioles and the Dallas Cowboys. He was always cheerful and loved to joke around. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.
Bill was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, American Legion CKRT#7, and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his sisters – Janice Hall and Lorraine Catterton.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marlene A. Cullember of Harrington; son, Wayne Cullember of Bristol, Connecticut; daughters, Monica Rash (Wayde) of Harrington, Debbie Guthrie of California, Theresa Episcopo of Felton, Diana Malin of Harrington; son in law, Scott Risinger; brother, Ronald Cullember of Punxsutawney, PA; sisters, Anna Mae Bowden of Owings, MD, Arlene Sherbert of Dunkirk, MD; and 3 grandchildren.
Service will beheld on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 11 AM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation fpr family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will be private.
