Joan M. Windsor

Joan Marie Windsor, Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Delaware Hospice Center of Milford surrounded by family, she was 76.  Joan was born in Washington, DC to the late Thomas and Rena Windsor.

Joan worked as a manager for Capitol Movers in Dover. She also worked for First State Coin and Jewelry, but her favorite job was upon her retirement, when she became a grandmother and started babysitting her grandchildren.

Joan was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed going to various races throughout the year with her friends.  When her children were growing up, she enjoyed taking them to the local beaches.  Joan was a great cook, and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.  Gardening was also something she liked to do every year, as well as take care of her finches.  She will be remembered and cherished as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who was very protective of her family and friends. She was always helpful to those in need, and will be sadly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Louise Oechsler; siblings, Tommy Windsor, Johnny Windsor, William "Bill" Windsor, Mary Donnelly, Benny Windsor, and Debbie Brocker.

She is survived by her sons, James Oechsler (Tracy), John Jecen; siblings, Erine Windsor, Nina Windsor; grandchildren, Grant Williams, Andrew Oechsler, Elli Swain; great grandchildren, Cayden Williams, Lincoln Williams, River Jean Oechsler, Atlas Wolf Oechsler.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE at 6 PM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 5 PM.  Interment will take place at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway Cemetery, 13405 Piscataway Rd., Clinton, MD 20735 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11 AM.
