Joan L. Badman, 82
FELTON — Joan L. Badman, of Felton, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.
Mrs. Badman was a graduate of Kutztown University. She retired from the Caesar Rodney School District as an art teacher, in 1989. In her retirement she continued to teach art to adults at the Dover Modern Maturity Center, and the Frederica Senior Center. She loved being an artist, and loved to paint. Her favorite medium was water colors. She was well known in this area for her paintings, and even has one hanging in the Delaware Court House. She was also a founding member of the Dover Art League. Bingo was a favorite pastime, and she liked to play at the Frederica Fire Co.
She will be remembered as an outgoing and very uplifting person. She always had a smile on her face which is what people remember about her the most. She was always on the go, never one to keep still. She will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. and Leone R. Lynch.
She was survived by her loving husband of almost 57 years, Atwood "Woody" Badman of Felton; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara B. Wilson of Felton, and Nancy J. and Joseph Robbins of Frederica; son, Thomas A. Badman of Georgia; sisters, Joyce and Douglas Ward of California, and Judith Pierce of Texas; and grandchildren, Christopher and Heather Robbins of Frederica.
Services will be private.
Donations can be made in her name to Seasons Hospice, 300 Biddle Avenue, St 205, Newark, DE 19702.
