Heidi was welcomed into heavenly rest on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, with her mom and dad by her side, she was 30 years old. Heidi was born in Frankfurt, Germany, July 27, 1983 during her father’s enlistment in the US Army.
Heidi was a teacher by nature, loved unconditionally, and had a smile that melted many hearts. She loved children. She was known as “Squeak Bug” by her dad and “Miss Hollywood” by her Pop-Pop Torbert, because of her love of sunglasses.
Heidi loved Kenny Rogers who she met in concert backstage in 1999. She loved flowers, slumber parties with her mom, girl days with her personal care nurses, and clowning around with her dad. She adored her niece Ashlynn and nephews Ian and Timothy. She was looking forward to the arrival of another niece/nephew in the coming months. Heidi is now holding and caring for the many “angel babies” lost to miscarriages in her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mom and dad, Sarah and James Fitzcharles of Harrington; mother, Joan (Charles) Myers of Hubert, NC; brother, Matthew (Jhenia) Fitzcharles of Ft. Riley, KS; and a sister, Cassandra Wiggins of Hubert, NC.
A special thanks to nurses Kristin, Janie, Cassie, Heidi, April, Barb, Teresa, Janet, Angela, and everyone else we called “our team”.
Services will take place Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 1 PM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will take place Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will be at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Melvin Monuments, specifically for her headstone, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952.
