Grace Wanda Quillen, 89
HARRINGTON — Grace W. Quillen passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Country Rest Home, Greenwood. Daughter of the late Robert Henry and Cora Derrickson Quillen.
Ms. Quillen held a variety of jobs in her lifetime, which included working at the DMV, Harrington town manager, and as the owner of her own gift shop, the Rob-Wan Shop. Most notably she worked with the Internal Students at W.T. Chipman School, at Lake Forest, for 12 years. Many students passed their grade because of her caring nature and tutelage.
She spent many years attending the Delaware State Fair and the Harrington Raceway. She also enjoyed going to the casino where she would run into her many friends.
Ms. Quillen was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Representative G. Robert “Bobby” Quillen, Harry D. Quillen, and Hayward Quillen.
She is survived by her brothers, I. Francis (Joan) Quillen of Harringon, and Frank F. Quillen of Harrington; nieces, Inga L. Emerson, Renee (David) Quillen-Knox, Thea Quillen; great nieces and nephews, Chad Emerson, Theo Knox, August Knox, and Haley Quillen-Knox.
Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 12 p.m., with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Weiner Avenue, Harrington, Del. 19952.
