George A. Bonniwell III, Harrington, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home with his family by his side, he was 79. George was the son of the late, Alma and George Bonniwell Jr.
George graduated from Harrington High School in 1965. He then proudly served in the Delaware National Guard until 1969, where he was a decorated marksman as a Private E-2. George went on to work at the DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford where he eventually retired as a Power Plant Supervisor.
George enjoyed hunting, training hunting dogs, raising quail and pheasants as well as working around his farm. He was a member of the Delaware Hunters Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, Buckmasters, and Delaware Master Hunters. George was also very involved with the Delaware 4H Youth Hunt where he enjoyed teaching and taking youths hunting. He received the lifetime achievement award for over 50 years of service from Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Bonniwell, and daughter, Lisa Muhs.
He is survived by his daughter, April McColley (Mike); grandchildren, Bethany McColley and Trevor McColley (Meghan); great grandchild, Brielle Shulties; and his fur baby, Buffy.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Hollywood Cemetery, Milford Harrington Hwy, Harrington at 11 AM.
Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home Inc, Harrington.
