Gary Wayne Spires

Gary Spires, 68, of Seaford, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his home.  He was the son of the late, Jacqueline Wallace and Wallace Spires.

Gary served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was formerly employed at the Cheer Centers in Georgetown and Greenwood, where he enjoyed working in the kitchen preparing meals. Prior to his time at the Cheer Center, Gary worked for CRS Roofing Services in Bladensburg, MD for 20 years alongside his Uncle Tommy.

Gary was a kind, caring, helpful man known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed being outdoors, crabbing, and watching sports, especially basketball and boxing. Gary was on a personal journey developing a close relationship with Christ. Everyone who met Gary fell in love with him and he will be missed dearly.

Gary is survived by his children, Amanda Spires, William Spires, Brandon Spires, Ryan Spires, and Amber Spires; siblings, David Spires and Sharon Phillips; uncle, Thomas Spires (Linda); and extended family.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a Calvary Wesleyan Church, 240 Delaware Ave, Harrington, DE 19952,  on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM (noon), where a visitation will take place one hour prior. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
