HARRINGTON - Gail I. Smith, of Harrington, passed away Aug. 25, 2011. She was 75.
Gail Smith worked at ILC for 25 years as a seamstress sewing Apollo space suits. She actually had sewn several parts of the space suit used by Buzz Aldrin when he walked on the moon. Mrs. Smith also worked as a cook for Heartbreak Hotel.
Mrs. Smith loved to crochet. She was an avid jigsaw puzzle person, most of her puzzles ranged from 1000 to 5000 pieces. She would not put together anything under 1000 pieces. Mrs. Smith loved to sew and would make her own clothes as well as her daughters when she was younger.
Mrs. Smith was a very strong, determined person. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She had a great sense of humor and loved to travel to craft and antique shows.
She is survived by her son, H. Dennis Paulison of Harrington; daughter, Kathleen Paulison of Milford; brother, David Standaert of Layton, N.J.; and one grandchild, Charles L. Paulison of Harrington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Standaert; and brother, Charles Standaert; and sisters, Margaret Hempell and Dorothy.
Funeral Services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, where a viewing will be at 6 p.m.
