Freida Woods

Freida Woods, age 76, of Camden-Wyoming passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 surrounded by her family at home.  She was the daughter of the late, Gilbert and Amy Oechsler.

Mrs. Woods worked as a  LPN nurse when she lived in Missouri prior to moving to Delaware.  She was also a homemaker.

Mrs. Woods loved nature, and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.  She loved to dance in her younger years while her husband played in the family band.  She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and watching scary and sci-fi movies.  Mrs. Woods immensely enjoyed being a taste tester for new family recipes.  She loved animals to include her many dogs over the years and her cat “Sasuke”.  Mrs. Woods was an ornery, happy person who did not let things bother her.  She was very protective of her family as they were the most important aspect of her life.

Mrs. Woods is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Jack Woods; brothers, Gilbert Oechsler Jr and William Oechsler.

Mrs. Woods is survived by her sons, Bruce Woods, James Woods (Angel), and Michael Woods; daughters, Kathy Woods and Brenda Buchanan; grandchildren, David Buchanan, Taevin, Jensen, CJ, Gianna, Mariah and J.

Services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 1:30 pm.  Interment will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.                          .
