Florence B. Wyatt Nalbone, Harrington, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, from the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was 91. She was born to the late Samuel E. and Cora Bradley.
Mrs. Nalbone was a proud graduate of Felton High School, class of 1943. She remained faithful and stayed active with her alumni ever since graduation. Mrs. Nalbone was a homemaker. During WWII, she worked in a nursing camp in Washington. She also worked at Playtex for a time making parachutes, a waitress, and also worked at the Felton Service Center.
Mrs. Nalbone was quite the busy lady. She stayed active and loved to cook, dance, do word searches, travel, and play bingo. She was an avid gardener and loved to can her own vegetables. She looked forward to the holidays with family over and all the home cooking she performed. She raised a Fresh Air child, Thomas Ryan, who became like a son to her and stayed in touch over the years.
She was known as a sweet lady who never knew a stranger and always cooked for everybody. She was famous for her homemade sweet tea and everybody wanted a glass. She was proud of her children and all of their accomplishments. She will be truly missed.
Mrs. Nalbone was a lifetime member of the Felton Ladies Auxiliary, Harrington Senior Center, Harrington Moose Lodge, Felton Alumni Association, and the Felton United Methodist Church.
