CLAYTON - Florence M. Reynolds passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Harrison House, Georgetown. She was 84. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Ellen German.
Mrs. Reynolds was an accountant for over 20 years for J.C. Penny. Mrs. Reynolds loved to play the piano and organ. She taught Sunday School and led the choir at her church. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very sweet, kind, and loving person. She taught her daughters how to conduct themselves as ladies and how to be good wives. She had a great sense of humor, and always took people into her home and became their instant friend. Her caring and loving nature will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Sandtown Nazarene Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Vinson W. Reynolds; sister, LaVerne Hart.
She is survived by sons, Ronald Reynolds of Shippensburg, Pa., Rev. Richard Reynolds of Florida, Daniel Reynolds of Shippensburg, Pa., Dr. Erwin Ford of Americus, Ga.; daughters, Carol Burnette of Shippensburg, Pa., Nancy Hina of New York, Candice McPherson of Atlanta, Ga., Dixie Wolf of Lewes; sisters, Irene (Rev. Jim) Pettit of Hartly, Ruth Braddock of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover.
