Faye N. Smith, of Harrington, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was 68. Born in Milford, DE, to the late Roland and Marie Neeman, Faye's life was a testament to selfless love and generosity. After a long career in accounting for the city of Harrington and other organizations, Faye spent her retirement doing what she loved most caring for children as a full-time nanny.
Faye's greatest joy was always her family. She poured her heart into her children's lives, never missing a game or event, and was deeply involved as a leader, coach, and organizer. Her passion for field hockey was woven into her life, as she played, officiated, and cheered passionately alongside family for decades, creating treasured memories and building a sense of community wherever she went.
An extraordinary baker, Faye's birthday cakes and family dinners were legendary, each one a heartfelt expression of her love. She shared countless adventures with her husband Neal at car shows and created magical memories with her family on trips to Disney World, her happiest place on earth.
Faye's unwavering faith and boundless love defined her life. She gave selflessly, cared endlessly, and brought joy to everyone who knew her. Her humble and compassionate spirit will be missed beyond measure, but her legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
Faye is survived by her loving husband, Neal Smith; her children, Wendy, Jordan (Sarah), and Shelby; her grandchildren, Emmerson, Harper, Finleigh, and Myles; and her siblings, Debra Kenton (Herb), Nancy Melvin, and Roland "Buster" Neeman (Nancy).
