Evelyn “Teetsie” Collins, 86, Harrington, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Greenwood Country Rest Home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late, John and Evelyn MacDonald.
When Teetsie was not helping her husband Alton on the farm, she was a secretary at Southern States in Denton, MD. Teetsie and Alton were members of the Harrington Moose Lodge, where they enjoyed dancing, and members of the Greensboro VFW.
Teetsie was a strong minded, hard worker who had her own way of doing things. She always made sure her house was well kept and was known as the best cook in the county, she could make anything taste good. Teetsie loved shopping, Dunkin coffee, and tending to her flower garden. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Teetsie is preceded in death by her siblings, Marjorie Bryan, Isabel Kreigh, John MacDonald Jr, Malcolm MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Beatrice Johnson, and Dugald MacDonald.
Teetsie is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Alton W. Collins; sister, Jeanette Cohee; special friend, Helen Burns; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington at 12 noon. A visitation will take place one hour prior starting at 11 AM. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
