Eptha Rose Roe

Eptha R. “Rose” Roe, of Felton, passed away at home, on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the age of 85.

Rose loved people, she enjoyed working with disadvantaged people and seniors. She enjoyed her job as director of MANNA food program partnered with the Harrington Senior Center.  Though a great cook, Rose enjoyed going out to dinner and coffee just to socialize.

When Rose wasn’t working or socializing over food, she enjoyed playing cards, and listening to Elvis Presley.  In her younger years, Rose and her beloved late husband, George, won a competition for dancing the Jitter Bug.  She liked to enjoy Dolle’s caramel corn as well as Thrasher fries whenever she visited the beach.  When Rose loved, she loved deeply, and she loved her family.

Rose is preceded in death by the love of her life, George E. Roe.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Kim Knaub (Russell); son, Tim Roe (Deneen); sister, Marietta Johnson; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will take place at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1 PM.  Interment will take place immediately after the funeral at the Barratts Cemetery, Frederica. Family and friends can gather at 12:30 PM on Thursday.
