Ellen Shultie-Hart of Felton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2015, from the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 83. Mrs. Shultie-Hart was born in Milford, DE to the late Leon and Catherine Donovan.
Mrs. Shultie-Hart was a homemaker. At the young age of 17, she got married to her sweetheart, and at 21, she and her two young children went on a Navy vessel to Turkey to be with her husband, who was stationed there. Later she travelled to France by herself, taking their three children, after he was transferred there.
In her spare time, Mrs. Shultie-Hart loved going to the beach and dancing. She belonged to and danced with the Diamond State Twillers, and the Stoney Creek Cloggers. She was an avid Delaware State Fair attendee, and was there every night. In 1969, she was one of four original founders who started Sonny Fries.
She will be remembered as a very caring person who was always generous with her time, talents, and resources. She was very loving, and liked to call herself just a country girl. She was family oriented and loved to spoil her grandchildren, and attend their sporting events. Although feisty at times, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Shultie-Hart was a very active 58 year member of the Prospect Methodist Church of Harrington. She was active with the Farmington Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary where she was a lifetime member. She was also active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post CKRT #7, for over 25 years, where she held many leadership positions as well as being their Sergeant at Arms.
Mrs. Shultie-Hart was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. "Sonny" Shultie Sr.
