Edward R Landon

Edward R. Landon, 66 of Greenwood, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022.  He passed away at Atlantic Shores Rehab and Health Center, Millsboro, and was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Dorothy Landon.

Edward did custodial work for Shore Stop for more than 20 years. He also participated in the Special Olympics as a bowler.

Artistic by nature, Ed loved making greeting cards and pictures for others.  His favorite activity on Friday’s was getting an Italian Sub and macaroni salad from Byler’s. He also enjoyed lemon meringue pie. Ed had a special fondness for animals, particularly horses and the bunnies he used to keep as pets. He also enjoyed music and dancing, picnics, BBQ’s, family gatherings, and cowboy movies/ shows, esp. Bonanza.

Ed never met a stranger. He made friends easily and was very devoted to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Mark, and Frank Landon; sisters, Rose Marie and Dorothy Landon; and aunts Addie and Elsie.

He is survived by his sister, Ruby (Kevin) Hammond; nephew, Kyle Hammond; and numerous extended family and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the individuals that are too numerous to mention from DCS, DDDS, Heartwood, Courageous Hearts, Kaleidoscope, Delaware Mentor, and Interim Healthcare for the impact that they had on Ed’s successes in life. You are appreciated more than you will ever know.

Services for Ed will be Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 11AM.  A visitation for family and friends will start at 10AM.  Interment will take place at 1:00PM at the Old Union Church Cemetery, 205 Union Church Rd., Townsend, DE 19734.
