FELTON — Edward L. Beachy, Sr., born Aug. 22, 1936, passed away Wed., Apr. 15, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Beachy served his country proudly in the US Navy, during the Korean Conflict, serving four years active duty from 1955-1959. Mr. Beachy worked for 39 years as a Bus Driver and the No Child Left Behind program. He was also a self-taught mechanic for 50+ years, and a diesel contractor for 45 years.
In his spare time, he liked to go golfing, camping, fishing and tinkering in his home shop. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, brother, and friend to all. He will be sadly missed.
He is preceeded in death by his daughter, Maryann Evers; brother, David Luther; sister, Anna Myrtle Renner; and grandchild, Michael Edward Miller.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara K. Beachy of Felton; son, Edward L. Beachy, Jr. of Miss.; daughters, Debora (Barry) Foor of Dover, Patti (Carl) Donophan of Dover, Laura (Craig) Bell-Burkett of Dover, Cindy (Steve) Rust of Milford; brothers, Herbert J. (Frances) Beachy of Baltimore, Md., Wilmur Ray (Bea) Beachy of Mt. Airy, Md., Eugene Oliver (Dolly) Beachy of Cooksville, Tenn., Milton Joseph (Linda) Myers of Baltimore, Md., Ira Richard (Betty) Beachy of Westminister, Md.; sister, Lois Virginia (Gurney) Kolb of Accident, Md.; brother-in-law, Kenny Renner, Sr. of Frederick, Md.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Apr. 18, 2015 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.
