Edna "Sue" Harmel

Edna Sue Harmel of Harrington, passed away on August 24, 2017 at Beebe Healthcare of Lewes. She was 69. Mrs. Harmel was born in Washington D.C. to the late, Robert and Christine Stover.
Mrs. Harmel worked as an office manager at TESST Electronic School in Beltsville, MD. She enjoyed craft fairs, the Ravens, the Orioles, and Elvis Presley. She was a devoted wife of 31 years, mother and aunt. Sue enjoyed going to band events with her husband.
Sue was a loving, caring hearted person, who enjoyed helping people. Sue was the monarch of the family where she kept everyone in line. Sue will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Harmel; loving sons, David (Pam) Burks and Henry Burks; caring sister, Mary Walls; nephew William Walls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 31, at 11 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St, Harrington, DE 19952. A visitation for family and friends will take place Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE from 6 pm to 8 pm. Interment will be private at a later date.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
