Madeline Ivins

Madeline Ivins was born on March 29, 1936, in Pocahontas, VA, to the late Scott and Ellen Pauley, she was a proud coal miner’s daughter.  Mrs. Ivins worked for General Foods for over 30 years.  Her main focus in life was her family.  Her life and every breath she took were centered on her son Chuck and her husband, and all their accomplishments.  She enjoyed the company of her little dogs Taffy and Trixi, and loved them very much.

Mrs. Ivins will be remembered as a humble and sweet person.  She was always kind and compassionate and never spoke bad about anyone, and always saw the positive in people.  She loved her church, The Lighthouse Christian Center, very much and gave the Lord all the credit for sustaining her for so long with her lengthy illness.  Her sweet presence and loving nature will be sorely missed by her husband, son, siblings, her church family, and all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles H., Michael, and Douglas Pauley; sisters, Ina Raye McCormick and Clara Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years,  Charles E. Ivins Sr. of Harrington; a son, Charles E. “Chuck” Ivins Jr. of Harrington; brothers, Scott Pauley Jr. of Lynchburg, VA, James W. Pauley of Laurel, DE, Rev. Larry Pauley of Lynchburg, VA, Greg Pauley of Bluefield, VA; sisters, Donna Sarver of Burrsville, MD, Ann Jones of Virginia, Patsy Pauley of Pocahontas, VA, Denise Dameron of Pocahontas, VA; sisters in law, Barbara Pauley of Crumpton, MD, Pauline Meredith of Easton, MD; and brother in law, Rev. John R. Ivins of Lynchburg, VA.

Services will be Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 11 AM, at the Lighthouse Christian Center, Rt. 14, Milford, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Officiating will be the Pastors Royce and Joel Andrus.  Interment will take place at  Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
