MILFORD - Doreen Gray Rogers, of Milford, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 59.
Doreen was preceded in death by her father, Joseph L. Gray, and survived by her parents Clarence and Audrey Billings of Harrington.
Doreen was a graduate of Harrington High School, class of 1969, where she was homecoming queen in her senior year. She worked as a secretary and a business owner, but her life's work was being a devoted mom.
In her spare time, Doreen enjoyed going to the beach, reading, and supporting her children and grandchildren in their various activities. She was a good-hearted person with a great personality who enjoyed talking to everyone. She was a very loyal and caring person who was always there for her children. Doreen loved being a grandmother. Some of her happiest times were spent being surrounded by her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to parents, Doreen leaves behind her husband of 28 years, L. Wayne Rogers of Milford; sons, Lewis B. Harrington III and his wife Wendy of Milton, Chad J. Harrington of Millsboro, Kevin W. Rogers of Milford, and Kyle C. Rogers of Milford; daughters, Tina A. Harrington of Milford, and Jordan A. Rogers of Milford; stepdaughters, Lorrie L. Sylvester and her husband Jimmy of Lincoln, and Dawn L. Pusey and her husband Eddie of Laurel; 11 grandchildren, Anna Harrington, L.B. Harrington, Benjamin Harrington, Brett Harrington, Mae Harrington, Tyler Galbreath, Miranda Walker, Cody Sylvester, Shane Sylvester, Matthew Pusey, and Melea Pusey; one great-grandchild, Collin Galbreath; brother, Joseph L. Gray and his wife Lil of Harrington; and sister, Heather A. Billings and her life partner Michelle Willyard of Tulsa, Okla.
Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
