Donald A. Pulleyn, 60
SMYRNA — Donald A. Pulleyn passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Don has resided in Smyrna for the past seven years, before then he lived at home with his parents. Don attended the Woodside Day Center in Woodside for the past 40 years. He went on many day and overnight trips with his father. He enjoyed hikes in the local, state, and city parks. He enjoyed the many activities the day center offered and the friends and staff there who were his second family.
Donald will be remembered for his infectious smile and pleasant disposition. He loved to eat, look at magazines, and stretch out for an afternoon nap, preferably in the sunshine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Don’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and administration at the Woodside Center, the Delaware Division of Developmental Disability Services, and the Mosaic in Delaware for the excellent care that he received.
Don is preceded in death by his father, Arthur E. Pulleyn; and brother, George Pulleyn.
Don is survived by his mother, Winifred Mary LaBar Pulleyn of Greensboro, Md.; his brother, Philip (Margaret) Pulleyn of Greensboro, Md.; nephews and nieces, Schuyler Pulleyn of Magnolia, Todd Pulleyn of Greensboro, Md., and Emily Pulleyn McMorris (Nick) of Magnolia; and great-nephew,
Owen McMorris of Magnolia.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
