Donald G. Minnich, 73
HARRINGTON — Donald G. Minnich, of Harrington, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at his home. He was 73.
Mr. Minnich graduated from the University of Illinois with a nursing degree. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Army in the medical corp as a medical technician. He enjoyed volunteering his time and energy in various organizations. He volunteered for DEMO, 1st State Community Action group, and part time at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He recently received an award from Governor Markell for all his volunteerism.
He will be remembered as a very caring person. He was always willing to help others and put their needs before his own. He enjoyed fixing medical equipment and giving it to those that were in need. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mae Minnich. He is survived by his partner, Sylvia Lewis of Harrington; and sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ross Mowery of Lyndell, Pa.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963.
