Donald C Horton

Donald C. Horton, 87, of Felton, passed on Dec. 25, 2022 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.  He is the son of the late Frank and Captola Horton. Don retired as a salesman, for Mack Truck, but he was a natural mechanic who enjoyed tinkering in his shop and working on cars.  In his younger years, he played softball and later became a softball coach.  Don was an active man who was an honorary lifetime member of the Whitehouse Station #1 Fire Department in New Jersey. When he moved to Delaware, he helped his daughter’s Phys. Ed classes at the Nellie H. Stokes Elementary School with the “Jump Rope for Heart” program and field days.

Don was a member of the Rockaway Reformed Church in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.  He was also a member of the Masonic lodge #46 F&AM and the royal Arch masons of New Jersey in Somerville New Jersey. Then after moving to Delaware the Masonic lodge # 7 AF&AM in Dover DE Don was a mason in good standing.

In addition to his parents, Don is predeceased by his brother, George Horton. Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris Horton; children, Keith Horton (Diana), Scott Horton (Laura) and Lori Horton; grandchildren, Bryan Horton, Patrick Horton, Chelsea Ballard, Brandon Horton, and Madison Horton; great grandchildren, Carter and Isabelle Horton; a brother, William Horton (Linda); and extended family. A private service will be held at the family’s discretion.
