Donald L. George

Donald L. George, Harrington, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, from John Hopkins Medical Center, he was 90. Mr. George was born in Wilmington, DE to the late, William H. and Margaret E. George.

Mr. George was a lifelong electrician for the IBEW Local 313. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 313 with over 65 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge with the Armstrong Lodge #26 out of Newport, and a 60+ year life member of the Cranston Heights Fire Company.

Mr. George was a hard worker, but when business was slow, he enjoyed making fishing poles for friends, because he was an avid fisherman. Mr. George never knew a stranger and was quick to start up a conversation whether it was about fishing, work, or politics. He was never far from his wife Kay, and when you saw one, you were sure to see the other, as they were inseparable. His presence will forever be felt and he will be sadly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William A. George.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kay George, son, Donald George, daughter, Donna George, stepchildren, Stanley K. (Kim) Szymanski Sr., Michael Eugene (Sue) Szymanski; grandchildren, Stanley Jr., Brian, Alex Szymanski, Danielle (Jack) Myers, Zack (Lidia) Szymanski; 7 great grandchildren.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery, Townsend, DE.
