Delores F. Shahan, 71
HARRINGTON — Delores F. Shahan of Harrington, daughter of the late Harold and Irene Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial hospital. She was 71.
Mrs. Shahan worked for the Department of Labor for 22 years doing administrative work. She loved her job and worked until she couldn’t work anymore.
She was formerly a member of the American Legion. In her spare time, she enjoyed seek and find books, watching TV, playing games on her phone and going to yard sales. She loved butterflies, but most importantly, loved spending time with family.
Mrs. Shahan will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother to her late husband and their children, as well as a doting grandmother to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gamaliel Shahan; her second mother, Louise Thompson; and her brothers, Wayne Wrobel and Robert “Jerry” Thompson.
Survivors include a son, David G. (Kolene) Shahan of Magnolia; three daughters, Melody (Larry) Pagàn of Harrington, Amber (David) Vaughn of Felton, and Patricia Shahan of Trappe, Md.; 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2015 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will take place one hour before at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made payable to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
