David E. Wile Sr.

David E. Wile Sr., FELTON, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at his home, he was 80 years old.

Mr. Wile served his country proudly as a seaman in the United States Navy, where he served aboard submarines.   After the military, he went to work for General Motors in Baltimore, MD as an auto worker, a job which he held for over 40 years, retiring in 2005.

Mr. Wile loved to watch movies.  His favorite movies were anything Biblical, documentaries, and even some musicals, watching them in his theater room.  He also liked working with wood and was quite the skilled wood worker.  He was very social, and loved to talk. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and especially enjoyed talking about his time in the Navy.  He will be sadly missed.

He is preceded in death by his adopted parents, Ezra and Theresa Mary Wile.

He is survived by his loving wife., Linda Wile; sons, Michael Wile, David E. Wile Jr. (Adele); daughter, Michelle Wolf (Sean); and grandchildren, Zachery, Ethan, Autumn, and Crystal.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 5 PM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 4 PM.  Interment will be private at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery North at a later date.
