David J. ‘Honeybear’ Martin, 72
HARRINGTON — David J. “Honeybear” Martin passed way Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at home. He was 72. He was the son of Fred and Mary Martin (deceased).
Mr. David “Honeybear” Martin was a licensed master plumber who retired after 32 years of service at Kraft Foods, then worked several years for Collins Mechanical. After retirement, he enjoyed hunting, crabbing and fishing as well as spending time enjoying his family and many friends. He was a devoted lifetime member of the Harrington Volunteer Fire Company where he was an ambulance driver, part of the fire police and helped cook in the kitchen.
Honeybear was a very caring, loyal friend. When it came to others he would always put their needs ahead of his own. He had an infectious laugh, and always had a story or joke to tell you. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Virginia Martin; daughter, Sue L. Walker and her fiance Ron Boone; grandchild, Thomas D. Walker, III (Samantha); and great-granddaughter, Londyn E. Walker.
Memorial Service will be 12 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Harrington Volunteer Fire Company. Interment will be private.
