David Wayne Dill of Harrington, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, he was 77.  Mr. Dill was born in Greensboro, MD to the late Courtland and Cathryn Dill.

Mr. Dill served his country proudly, as a Sergeant, in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  He worked as a supervisor for E.I. DuPont of Seaford, and farmed for a living.

Mr. Dill was an avid collector of John Deere memoralabilia and antique wrenches, and participated in collector clubs nationwide.

Mr. Dill will be known as very easy going, fun loving, caring, kind, compassionate, and everybody knew him as Papa Dill.  He loved being outdoors, travelling, especially to Indiana, sports, and spending time with his family, and participating in his children's activities.  He was especially proud of his children, and he also loved sharing his jelly donuts with his granddaughter Clara.

Mr. Dill was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, Missouri Valley Wrench Club, and the Delaware Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michele L. Dill of Harrington, sons, Michael W. (fiancé-Carla Barrera) of Harrington, Kevin A. (Kathleen) of Middletown; daughter, Melissa L. (Kathy) Dill of Dover; sister, Lois (Jimmy) Dunn of Harrington; nephew, Russ (Marlene) Dunn of Harrington; niece, Lori (Jerry) Carpenter of Hockessin; 5 grandchildren.

Services will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2016, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE, at 12pm, with a visitation starting two hours  prior.  Interment will take  place at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harrington Fire Company, 20 Clark Street, Harrington, DE 19952
