Curtis L. Walker Sr., of Greenwood, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014, from the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, he was 65. Mr. Walker was born to the late Jim and Mabel Walker.
Mr. Walker was a horse trainer for over 36 years. He was an extremely hard worker with a heart of gold. Whoever he came into contact with, he showed them love. He kept a smile on his face all the time, and those around him appreciated his thoughtfulness and caring nature. He would truly help anybody in need. He was a soft spoken man, however he loved to play practical jokes. He loved his wife dearly and treated her like a queen. He was the best husband a wife could ever ask for. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Walker of Greenwood; sons, Kelvin Johnson of Belle Haven, VA, Curtis Walker Jr. of Nelsonia, VA, Robert Johnson of Accomac, VA; daughters, Lavelle Walker of Nassawadox, VA, Kathy Brown of Camden, DE; brothers, Albert Walker of Weirwood, VA, Roland Walker of Melfa, VA, George Walker of Exmore, VA, Kent Lee Walker of Belle Haven, VA, Roy Lee Walker of Dover, DE, Terry L. Upsher of Ellendale, DE, Michael Upsher of Ellendale, DE; sisters, Maggie Walker of Treherneville, VA, Mabel Mason of Treherneville, VA, Diane Showell of Frankford, DE, Laura Smith of Painter, VA, Karen Uphshur of Seaford, DE, Geraldine Johnson of Weirwood, VA; and 2 grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 1 PM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
