Charles C. ‘Chuck’ Foy Jr. , age 66, of Harrington passed away peacefully on Sunday March 20, 2011 surrounded by his family, at the Milford Hospice Center.
Chuck was born on September 6, 1944 in Cowa, Ohio and has resided in the small town of Burrsville, located on the outskirts of Harrington, for the last 45 years with his wife Sandra Foy. He graduated from North Caroline High school in 1962 and went on to work at the DuPont Nylon plant until he retired after 25 years of service. He then took passion in his hobby to repair lawn mowers and started his own business “Foy’s and Sons”. His business has been thriving for over 25 years now and customers come from all over the tri-state area to have their lawn mower repaired.
He enjoyed spending many of his mornings and afternoons during the spring and summer months preparing, nursing, and harvesting his garden. He was always very generous and shared all the fruits and veggies his garden produced. When he wasn’t taking care of his garden, he was caring for and rescuing the local stray cats that happen to show up on his door step. He also loved his current events. He was always watching the news channel and loved sharing the news with anyone that would listen, and loved to watch his favorite TV show, “Law and Order: CI”.
Chuck had a sense of humor that would lighten the most horrible days. He was a very kind hearted man and would go out of his way to do anything for you.
Chuck is preceded in death by his father Charles C. Foy, Sr., mother Geraldine (Adams) ‘Gerry’ Foy, and brother Samuel J. Foy Sr. And, an adopted aunt Marjorie “Marjie” O’Day.
He is survived in death by his wife, Sandra Foy of Harrington and children Kenneth E. Foy Sr. and Mary Ellen Saunders of Farmington, Jamie A. Foy and wife Maxine Foy of Greenwood, and Kelly Foy-Callahan and husband David Callahan of Newark.
