Catherine ‘Kitty’ Dare, 55

FELTON — Catherine “ Kitty" Dare of Felton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at her home.

Kitty worked in the Lake Forest School District followed by the Woodbridge Middle School, in the cafeteria, for the past 10 years. She worked for Peoples Restaurant for many years and also helped with Sam and Irene Layton’s catering business. She was also co-owner and operator of Jennifer’s Restaurant for many years.

People remembered her for her big personality and matching smile. She seemed to uplift everyone she served with her charisma and caring nature. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother who always put her family and friends needs before her own. She will be greatly missed.

Catherine is preceded in death by a son, Dustin J. Dare; father, Carroll D. Satterfield; stepfather, Earl F. Butler; father in law, James H. Dare, MSGT, Ret.

She is survived by her husband, Sean J. Dare of Felton; son, Ryan A. Dare and girlfriend Kelsey Smith of Harrington; mother, Catherine Butler of Harrington; mother-in-law, Charlotte Mae Dare of Felton; brothers and sisters, Karen Sue Barmer of Dover, Carol Walther of St. Georges, Marie Winkler of Harrington, Wayne Butler of Spring Hope, N.C., Cheryl Ray of Charleston, S.C., Linda Butler of Harrington, Karen Butler of Harrington, 8 brother and sister in laws on the Dare side; numerous nieces and nephews, 1 great-nephew; and 1 great niece; and her beloved pet dog, Diesel.

Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11th at 1 p.m. at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service with Interment at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Melvin Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
