Carl C. Burger Sr., of Harrington, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 69. Mr. Burger was born in Washington, DC to the late Walter and Leah Burger.
Mr. Burger was a meat cutter for Giant Foods for many years. He was a self described Jack of All Trades, but master of none. In his spare time, he loved to cut grass, shoot pool, and spending time with his family. He also loved to watch his favorite teams, the Washington Redskins, Nationals, and CSPAN. He will be remembered as a meticulous person who kept tracked of everything and had an opinion about everything. He was feisty and determined, but had a heart of gold. He will be truly missed.
Mr. Burger was a member of the Harrington Moose #534, American Legion CKRT Post 7, and the Morningside Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his sons, Michael A. Burger of Huntingtown, MD, Carl C. Burger Jr. of Huntingtown, MD; daughters Diane M. Pierpont of Edgewater, MD, Anna Fox of Edgewater, MD, Cherie Marquart of Chesapeake Beach, MD; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a special friend, Edna Seeney of Harrington.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Another visitation will occur on Thursday, May 9th, 2013, between 2:00pm - 4:00pm, and then again between 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at the Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD. His funeral will take place on Friday at 1:00 pm at the same location. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery, Cedar Hill Cemetery.
