Boyd H. ‘BH’ Chaney, 85
HARRINGTON — Boyd H. ”BH” Chaney passed away Dec. 4, 2015 surrounded by his family at home. He was the son of the late Chester and Frances Chaney.
Mr. Chaney was the owner and operator of Chaney Bus Services for many years. His buses were known for their many tours throughout the east coast. Driving and riding through the countryside were some of his favorite activities as well as stock car racing in his younger years.
Mr. Chaney was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge, American Legion as well as the Elks Lodge in Milford.
Mr. Chaney was a man’s man who enjoyed socializing and having fun. He and his friend Ray Sherman could often be found on the weekends at Harrington Raceway dancing and enjoying life. Mr. Chaney could be orney but he was well liked with a heart of gold and infectious smile.
Mr. Chaney is preceded in death not only by his parents but his son: Floyd Chaney; brothers: George Chaney, Woodrow Chaney, Donald Chaney, Woodrow Chaney, Charles "Popeye” Chaney and sister, Margaret Dale.
Mr. Chaney is survived by his loving wife Rosa Lee Chaney of Harrington; stepdaughter Teri Bowles of Harrington; sons: Chester L. Chaney of Lincoln, Richard “Dicky” Cooper of Milford, Boyd H. “Buddy” Chaney of Ellendale, and Terry R. Chaney; daughter: Beverly Lake of South Carolina; sister: Barbara Bailey of Crisfield; grandchildren: Jimmy Payton, JR of New Mexico, Jessica R. Dennis of Milford, Ryan Lake of S. Carolina, Boyd "Bo” Chaney III of Ellendale, Christopher Chaney of Lincoln, and Kerry Lee Chaney of Florida as well as five great-grandchildren.
Services will be private at the family’s convenience. The family requests contributions to help defray funeral expenses made payable to the funeral home.
