Billy Joe Griffin Sr., of Frederica, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, he was 49. He was the son of the late Alex and Alice Griffin.
Mr. Griffin worked as a crane operator for Burris Foods for over 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Nascar. He loved to attend the Nascar races at Dover at least once a year, and the races at Richmond. He will be remembered as a laid back and quiet person. He believed in hard work and getting the job done. He was a good father, who will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Bonnie Bowman of Frederica; son, Billy Joe Griffin Jr. of Frederica; daughter, Dawn Morris of Harrington; brother, Tex Griffin of Canterbury; sister, Dori Greenlee of Tennessee; grandchildren, Nick and Brandon.
Services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 1:00 PM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
